An Overview History of Web3

The term “Web3” is sometimes used to describe the next stage of the World Wide Web, where the web is more intelligent and interconnected. The vision for Web3 is a web of data that machines can understand and use to make decisions, rather than a human-centric web of information. Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web, has said that Web3 will be “the Semantic Web”. Semantic Web technology allows web pages to be linked together in a way that machines can understand, making it possible to search for and find information more easily. Web3 is still in its early stages of development, but it has the potential to revolutionize the way we use the Internet.

The term “Web 3.0” was first coined by John Markoff in 2006, in an article for the New York Times. He described it as “the next generation of the World Wide Web”, one that would be “based on the premise of decentralized control”. This vision was later elaborated on by Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web, who described Web3 as “a revision of the architecture of the Web to empower individuals, not just companies.” In its most basic form, Web3 is simply the next stage in the evolution of the World Wide Web. While previous iterations of the web have been focused on linking people and information, Web3  is focused on linking data and devices. This shift is being driven by the rise of the Internet of Things, as well as the increasing availability of data.

The Web3 era will see the development of more intelligent and user-friendly applications and services. In many ways, Web3 is the realization of the original vision for the web – a platform that connects people and information in a more meaningful way. Web3 is still very much in its infancy, but there are already a few key technologies that are emerging as central to its development. These include decentralized storage (such as IPFS and Filecoin), decentralized computing (such as Ethereum), and decentralized identity (such as uPort).

Web3 is the future!Web3 is the future!

Web3 came from the need for a more secure and efficient way to exchange information online. With the increasing use of the internet for business like event website creation and personal transactions, it became clear that the current web infrastructure was not up to the task. Web3 was designed to address these security and efficiency issues, and it has rapidly become the preferred exchange platform for many users.
